Yonglian No.1 is a classic variety in the Yonglian peach series. It is characterized by its large size, sweet taste, late maturity and high yield. It was developed in Zibo, Shandong Province.
The fruits are large in size, with an average single fruit weight of approximately 420 grams, and the largest can reach over 700 grams. They have a round shape, with a rose-red skin that has a high degree of coloration. The flesh is white, with or without a core (variations exist depending on the source), and the texture is delicate.
High in sweetness, with a soluble solids content ranging from 17.9% to 23%, it has a sweet flavor. Most are described as hard-jelly-like peaches, which are conducive to transportation and storage.
It is a late-maturing variety. It usually ripens in the middle to late September, and is available for sale around the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
