Hongguifei is a premium early-season red pear variety, selected as a bud sport from the ‘Hongxiang Crisp’ pear. This variety inherits the crisp texture of Chinese pears and the rich aroma of European pears – a perfect “Sino-Western hybrid” that delivers a unique eating experience. It has been granted New Plant Variety Rights protection in China.
Appearance:
The fruit is fusiform to gourd-shaped with a distinctive, attractive appearance. The skin is smooth and bright, with a deep red blush on the sun-exposed side covering about 50% of the surface. The flesh is pure white, dense, crisp, and juicy.
Flavor:
Hongguifei offers a sweet, aromatic flavor with a delightful hint of apple. With a soluble solids content of 14%–15% Brix and very low acidity, it delivers a satisfying, refreshing taste. The core is small, making it virtually grit-free.
