Product Introduction

Product Name: Dapple Dandy Pluot (Dinosaur Egg)

Description:
The Dapple Dandy Pluot, known in the market as Dinosaur Egg, is a premium late-season hybrid fruit developed in California through multiple generations of plum and apricot crossing. Containing 75% plum and 25% apricot genetics, this variety combines the crisp texture of a plum with the aromatic sweetness of an apricot. It is recognized internationally as a "21st-century fruit superstar".

Appearance:
The fruit is near-round with a distinctive yellow-red skin covered in red speckles, giving it a mottled appearance that resembles a dinosaur egg – the origin of its popular name. When cut open, the flesh is pink to bright red, fine-textured, low in fiber, and exceptionally juicy.

Flavor:
Exceptionally sweet and aromatic, with a soluble solids content of 15%–20% – among the highest for pluot varieties. The fruit is crisp and sweet, with the skin adding a slight tartness that perfectly complements the sugary flesh.

Size:
Large fruit type. Average weight is 126g, with premium fruit reaching 145–150g under optimal management.

Storage Superstar:
One of this variety's greatest commercial advantages is its exceptional storage life: 15–30 days at room temperature and an extraordinary 4–6 months under refrigeration (2–5°C). This allows for flexible marketing, extended sales windows, and even off-season distribution when demand remains high.

Growing Advantages:
Early-bearing – trees begin fruiting in the second year, reaching full production with yields of 30–50kg per tree. Requires cross-pollination with compatible varieties such as Flavor Supreme (Weidi), Flavor King (味王), or Fengwei Hou (味厚) for optimal fruit set. Low chilling requirement (400–500 hours) makes it adaptable to warm-winter regions.

Harvest Season:
Early to mid-August – a premium late-season variety that extends the fresh hybrid fruit market and captures strong late-summer and autumn demand.
