Product Name: Keitt Mango
Description:
Keitt Mango, botanically classified as Mangifera indica L. 'Keitt', is a premium late-season mango variety originating from Florida, USA. Selected from a Mulgoba seedling, it was introduced to Taiwan in 1954 and later to China's Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in the 1990s. Today, Keitt is the core variety of China's late-season mango production regions, with approximately 65,000 hectares under cultivation and accounting for over 80% of mango planting area in Panzhihua.
A Mango That Owns the Late Season:
The defining feature of Keitt Mango is its exceptional lateness. While most Chinese mangoes flood the market from May to July, Keitt ripens from late August to October, with high-altitude regions extending the season to November. This strategic timing gives growers a significant market advantage, allowing them to supply fresh, high-quality mangoes when competition is minimal.
Appearance & Flavor:
The fruit is oval to flat-oval, with large shoulders, a protruding belly, and a distinctive beak-like tip. The skin is smooth with dense white dots and a thick bloom. Unripe fruit has a pale green base with pink blush, turning yellow when fully ripe. Inside, the flesh is orange-yellow, fine-textured, and fiber-free, with a sweet, aromatic flavor. Soluble solids content reaches 18.25%–18.3% Brix, with total sugar of 12.6%–17.6% and acidity as low as 0.23% — delivering a pure, clean sweetness with minimal tartness. The edible rate is approximately 77%–80.9%.
