Seed treatment: Coriander seeds are schizocarps. Gently rub to separate the two halves, soak in warm water for 12–24 hours, then wrap in a damp cloth to pre-germinate until most seeds split and show white radicals.
Sowing time: Optimal growth temperature is 15–20°C. Spring and autumn are the best seasons. Provide shade in hot summer and protection in winter.
Soil: Loose, fertile, well-drained soil with pH 6.0–7.5.
Sowing method: Drill or broadcast, cover with 0.5–1 cm of soil, keep moist. Seedlings emerge in about 7–15 days.
Thinning: Thin seedlings when 3–5 cm tall, spacing 3–5 cm to avoid overcrowding.
Water & fertilizer: Keep soil moist during growth. Apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer 1–2 times after plants reach 10 cm.
Harvest: Ready 30–60 days after sowing, when plants are 15–20 cm tall. Late harvest may cause bolting and poorer flavor.
