Product Introduction

Product Name: Tainong No.1 Mango

Description:
Tainong No.1 Mango, botanically classified as Mangifera indica L. 'Tainong No.1', is a premium early-maturing mango variety developed by the Fengshan Tropical Horticultural Experiment Station in Taiwan. Bred from a cross of ‘Hayden’ (female) and ‘Irwin’ (male), it was introduced to mainland China in 1994 and has since become one of the core commercial varieties in China's early-season mango production regions .

A Mango That Owns the Early Season:

The defining feature of Tainong No.1 is its exceptional earliness. It is the first major variety to hit the market in the Baise production region, with the official harvest opening on June 10 each year (and the seedless “no-embryo” type available from June 5) . This strategic timing allows growers to supply fresh, high-quality mangoes when competition is minimal, commanding premium prices. In 2026, the opening-day farm-gate price for Tainong No.1 reached 1.8 yuan per jin, double the previous year .

Appearance & Flavor:
The fruit is flat-oval to oblique-oval, with an average weight of 220 grams (up to 360g). The skin ripens to a bright orange-yellow with a rosy red blush on the sun-exposed side, and its smooth, glossy surface with fine dots makes it highly attractive for retail . Inside, the flesh is deep yellow to orange-yellow, fine-textured, and exceptionally smooth, with virtually no fiber. The flavor is richly aromatic — carrying the intense fragrance of native mangoes — with a sugar content of 17%–25% Brix .

Key Commercial Advantages:

  • Early-Season Market Window – Harvested from June 5–10, filling the early summer mango gap

  • Intense Aroma & High Sugar – 17–25% Brix with a strong, native mango fragrance

  • Fiber-Free, Smooth Flesh – Fine, tender texture with edible rate of 68%–79%

  • Excellent Storage & Shipping Tolerance – Thick skin and firm flesh support long-distance transport

  • High Yield & Stable Production – Mature trees yield 52.3 kg per tree (approx. 1,726 kg/mu), with no biennial bearing

  • Anthracnose Resistant – Stronger disease resistance than many commercial varieties

  • Seedless “No-Embryo” Option – The no-embryo type offers seedless convenience and earlier harvest
