Product Introduction

Product Name: Youpancui Jujube (Oily Pan Jujube)

Description:
Youpancui is a premium new-generation jujube variety, bred from a bud mutation of the renowned Winter Jujube (Dongzao). Officially named “Zhandong No.3” in 2023, it represents the latest advancement in China's fresh jujube breeding and is recognized as one of the finest flat jujube varieties available.

A Jujube That Stands Out:
The most striking feature of Youpancui is its flat-round shape combined with a glossy, oily skin – a visual that resembles a miniature flat peach. This distinctive appearance gives the variety its name and makes it instantly recognizable on the shelf.

Flavor & Texture:
Youpancui delivers an outstanding eating experience. The flesh is fine-textured, crisp, and juicy, with a flavor that is sweet with a subtle tang and a lingering, pleasant aftertaste. Compared to ordinary Panzao, it offers a much more refined and rich taste, often described as having a traditional jujube aroma.

Size:
Average fruit weight is 40–50 grams, with premium fruit reaching up to 122 grams or even 196 grams under optimal conditions.

Key Commercial Advantages:

  • Premium Positioning – One of the most expensive fresh jujube varieties, with fruit selling for ¥120–¥150 per jin even when ordinary winter jujubes are priced below ¥1 per jin.

  • Unique Appearance – Flat-round shape with glossy, oily skin.

  • Superior Flavor – Ranked first among the three major flat jujube varieties for taste.

  • Rare and Limited Supply – Total cultivation area is extremely limited, making it a highly sought-after luxury fruit.

Note for Growers:
This variety has low natural fruit set and is prone to fruit cracking. It requires high-level management skills and is best suited for protected greenhouse cultivation. Open-field planting carries significant risk.

Harvest Season:
Autumn – with greenhouse cultivation, harvest can be advanced to September for early market access.
